If you provide support to a friend, neighbour or loved one in an unpaid capacity then we are here to support you. Our work is all about enabling you to adjust to, and manage your caring role, your life and your emotional and mental wellbeing. We offer a range of services but you really do decide how best we can support you.
Information, advice and guidance
Our specialist information service is here to advise on the things you need to know. Whether its benefits advice, blue badge parking, how to get the carers allowance or anything else you want to know, we are your first point of contact.
Advocacy and casework
We are on hand to support you, and/or the person that you care for in addressing issues that may concern you. A named support worker will support you in meeting some of the life challenges you may face in undertaking your caring role. This could be anything from addressing housing issues, accessing health services, debt and money management or applying for a carers grant. We will stay by your side throughout the entire process to advocate for you, represent you and support you. Being a carer doesn’t mean being a carer alone. We are here to help.
Mentoring and counselling support
Sometimes we all need someone to listen to us. Our team are here to help you talk through your thoughts or arrange counselling should you prefer a more therapeutic approach. We even have a wonderful Keep-in-Touch service that touches base with you regularly to make sure you are ok.
Opportunities and things to do
Your wellbeing is important to us and taking a break is tremendously important. As such we provide an entire range of things for you to get involved with and do. We have coach trips, countryside breaks, hobby and interest groups and an exciting programme of summer and winter events. To find out more have a look at our What’s on at The Stables page.
A real home from home
Our venue is a beautiful, Grade 1 listed 17th stable complex that dates from 1607. We have designed our building to provide you with a place to come and place to be – The Stables really is a place where everybody knows your name. We have an excellent café overlooking a lovely walled garden with an aviary, grassed areas and outside seating. The building includes relaxation spaces, training rooms and a team of really friendly staff who will always welcome you. So if you are looking for somewhere to head to in order to take a break, you know where to come….and if you want advice or support, well that is here too!
